BOO! A new version of the Boo mini quilt, plus how to turn it into a pillow cover
Can you believe it's already time for fall sewing? That's right, even though it's barely spring, the newest Halloween fabric collections are releasing now! I recently had the chance to sew with Riley Blake Designer Jennifer Long's new collection, Little Witch, and...It. Is. Adorable!!
While I can envision about a million cute projects being made with this fabric, I chose to make a new version of my Boo Mini Quilt pattern.
This pattern finishes at about 24" x 24", which makes it easy to turn into a pillow cover! In order to create an envelope backing, I used two rectangular pieces of fabric: (1) 18" x 24" piece and (1) 20" x 24" piece.
Here are some quick directions for turning the mini quilt into an envelope pillow cover:
- On each backing rectangle, finish one 24" edge by folding the edge 1/4" toward the wrong side of the fabric. Press and repeat. Sew along the folded edge to secure.
- Next, decide if you want to add binding to your pillow or not and refer to the diagrams below to finish the pillow cover.
If you need a copy of the Boo Mini quilt pattern, you can find it here in the shop.
