New Cabin Series Quilt Pattern: Redwood Cottage
Are you ready to make a cozy, vintage inspired quilt for fall and winter? I hope you'll give this one a try! It's a convenient take on a gingham sawtooth star. It is fat quarter or quarter yard friendly, requires no background fabric, and no flying geese are involved in the construction (some of my favorite things!). Skill level is confident beginner.
My talented quilt pattern testers said that their favorite aspect of the pattern is how easy it is to sit down and make one block at a time. The pattern is written to mix and match fat quarters, which allows you to easily set your project aside and come back to it when you're ready, without feeling overwhelmed.

The Inspiration Behind the Quilt
While I call northern California home now, it used to be a place my husband and I loved to visit. I designed the Redwoods Cottage Quilt while reminiscing on a road trip that we took from Lake Tahoe to Mendocino. We took the scenic route and leisurely drove through the winding roads in the Redwood Forest. After happening upon an old one-room schoolhouse in the middle of the forest, I asked my husband to pull the car over. We jumped out and explored the idyllic little school that sat in the middle of a meadow. I wondered what life was like for the kids who learned there and imagined that many of their homes at that time held treasured, scrappy quilts like this one.
